Welcome to my current site displaying some of the examples of my creative efforts.

This site was fun to create because I used some of my favorite plugins to show some of the creative ways to show galleries on the web. Each site I create is unique. My background is in art and I try to make each site pleasant to look at as well as easy to navigate. I have spent many years working with customers on websites and business databases and have a strong feel for simple easy to follow navigation and sites that look good. I have a broad set of skills from opportunities I have had over the years. I have worked for many large well know corporations like IBM, Seagate, Pillsbury, 3M and many more. (Some of the pieces use CSS3 and or HTML5 so if you have an old browser, you will not see the page properly. I have purposly been avoiding Flash for several reasons, 1) the Apple fiasco, 2) HTML5 will supercede it in many cases 3) Search Engine issues with Flash.... Although There is one piece of it for now until I can find another way.
This site is best viewed with Chrome! The only browser I have had problems with is Internet Explorer (go figure)).

IBM Web Pages – reworked two internal IBM web pages to new standard template design. Rebuilt the template to be Domino based and more dynamic and easier for end user to fill out content for their own pages. IBM Boulder Education Web Page & IBM Boulder Web Page.

-- Lucent Technologies – Help in a team environment to develop a database set that track Lucent’s financial data. I made the interface between the reporting database and the data storage database. Also put the finishing touches on the look and feel of both databases.

-- Product Support Services – Redesign and enhance a set of databases that control the Contract Renewal process for the ITS group. Was given the opportunity of a major redesign of existing databases. Including enhanced user interface, workflow, automated many functions such as data collection and importing, optimizing resources. Added utilization of other needed data rather than hard coding many functions.

-- Johnson & Johnson – Was backup to another developer on the J&J financial system database set. Mostly SQL query support for data acquisition.

-- 6Q, IBM Financial – Maintain and add functionality to a set of databases that IBM uses for headcount and space planning.

-- Siebel – reworked old databases to better functionality for Siebel to use. Improved user interface and functionality.

I am Responsible for meeting with the client in workshop format to outline their needs and then taking this information back to begin developing the required databases and Web Sites. I traveled to customer sites when necessary and worked onsite at the employers location.
Web Design
Developed graphics and user interfaces for web design work that was being developed on most all projects.

State of New Mexico EMS Bureau
Developed a demo of a proposed database set that would handle all New Mexico State Emergency Services Bureau Run Reports.
Developed a web site template database for the EMS Bureau.
Developed the user interface for the set of databases that we were hired to develop. Including all artwork and navigation tools.

Los Alamos National Laboratory – Atlas Project
Developed a complete Project Management set of databases which included: WBS (Work Breakdown Structure);
PROJECT TEAM RECORDS, used to track all personnel assigned and training records; Approved Suppliers, to track all suppliers based on a grade level authorization for specific parts of project;
DRAWING AND IMAGE LIBRARY, used to track all drawings and images produces in the development of machine, includes revision tracking, return of parts that do not meet drawing specifications, etc;
PROCUREMENT LOG, tracks all purchased items and purchased services, includes tracking of all parts either individually or as a set;
PROCESS DESCRIPTIONS, used to store for easy lookup all process descriptions written for producing and assembling machine; QAPP (Quality Assurance Program Plan), contains all quality specifications for entire project;
PROJECT SOFTWARE AND TECH NOTES, contains all notes written and allows attachment of all software written for project.

STC – Victim Witness Protection Program for State of Arizona
Built two databases, one for the Sheriff and Police departments and one for the Victim Witness Protection group. The Sheriff database spawns the Victim Witness entries from police reports. The second for the Victim Witness group is used for tracking all incidents and follow-up calls made to the victims and witnesses. The databases allow for tracking all incidents and for statistical purposes. Each database can be used as standalone also.

Sun & Son, Inc
Built a project management set of databases. One for internal use and one for communication with the Customer. Both linked together.
Assigned all artwork for projects to incorporate a consistent look and feel for Sun & Son projects.

Worked in a team to develop a database to contain all packaging specifications for all products produced by 3M.

Mortenson Construction Company
Developed a Project Management database to track all construction projects previously and presently by this firm.
Developed internal HR databases to organize all company resources. People, teams, other sources of personnel.
Developed IT databases to coordinate all IT tasks and time.

Grand Metropolitan Incorporated
Designed a Lotus Notes database, for State Tax group, to handle all transactions and discussions produced during all Audits for all companies owned by Grand Metropolitan. Tracked progress of audits starting from first notification to resolution. Stored scanned images of all documents sent to Grand Met from State Auditors and all document replies sent back.
Redesigned a database for internal discussions of projects, audits, and general internal information for Federal Tax group.

Computing Devices International
Setup a new Compaq 4500 disc array Lotus Notes server using Windows NT 3.51. Built machine and loaded software. Setup Notes 3.x server software and connected it to the interplant network.
Designed a Help Desk installation queuing function using Lotus Notes macro language into an existing Help Desk call logging database. Redesigned several parts of database as well. Am currently redesigning the queuing function using Lotus Scripting language for better efficiency.
Designed a Lotus Notes database for tracking and billing departments for transaction and disc space used in entire Notes installation. It gathered together all transaction by all users and all departments from all servers.
Redesigned several internal used databases too more efficient and accurate in their functions. Using rev 3.x macro language. Will reinvestigate using rev 4.x and Lotus Script.
Redesigned a flat storage administration database into a dynamic self-updating administration function user file watching system using Lotus Script. It keeps all user information current pulling from several other databases and also watches that the backup server contains a backup mailbox for all users. Sends an alert to administrator if one is missing.
Aid the new Notes Administrator in learning and maintaining Lotus Notes network company wide.

Relocation - Requested by Quality department to move to Minnesota and develop a Lotus Notes database able to be filled by an Oracle based disc drive return tracking system. The Notes database was used to share the data gathered in returned drives and distribute this information worldwide to management, engineering, finance, manufacturing, etc. Lotus Notes being portable and Oracle was not.
Developed a database to share all returned disc drive information. Designed it to handle over a gigabyte of information in an efficient user friendly and useable manner. Fully documented the database with help screens and an accompanying user manual.
Developed database manuals for all Quality department functions and computer based projects.
Developed a corporate Lotus Notes phone book that was updated by the HR database located on an IBM mainframe.
Supported all corporate databases previously built in Oklahoma.

Lotus Notes/Domino Design and Development

If you are looking for a complete organizational tool, data sharing tool, a way to contain all transactions, inventory, correspondence, personel, etc. to take care of your business, collections, works of art, this is the enviroment you should use. Clean and easy interfaces and designs that are easy to change to your specific needs (unlike many store bought, or specifically written packages that have one main function). You can have a system that looks like your company, that is web active and easy for the end user to update web sites without professional help.

The websites made with Domino can be basic design or integrated with a database to make a freely interactive website of your inventory, personal collections, business data, etc.. As you make changes to your data, the website can reflect the changes in real time. Web updates can be made by anyone who can use a word processor.

In website design it is important to have ease of use, logical navigation, a pleasing layout and design. I have spent much of my life creating user interfaces for datbases and websites. The designs include underlying code using HTML, PHP, Javascript, CSS, Flash and other technologies. Many sites included Art/Photography Gallery packages, Shopping Carts, fully functional Calendars, Blogs, Bulletin Boards. I have created many simple 1-2 page websites as well.

I have been building websites since 1991. Many were inter-corporate sites (IBM) and not visible to anyone excpet employees. Since then I have created many sites. I try to make each site unique. I use various tools such as PHP, Javascript, CSS, Flash, Jquery, MySQL, etc. I use Photoshop and Dreamweaver as the main software tools. I have not written all of the code used but I utilize nice plugins and pre-written code and modify them for my use. Its about how nice the site looks and how easy it is to navigate thru it.
